But I also wanted to share a little more context because cybersecurity isn’t just my career. It’s personal.

My path wasn’t a straight line and that shaped how I lead. I grew up in Liberia, West Africa. My early years were structured, education-focused, and quiet until civil war disrupted everything.

That kind of disruption changes how you see risk, safety, and what it means to rebuild.

Eventually, I continued my education and built my life and career in the United States. I was always drawn to systems: how they work, how they break, and how you make them stronger.

That curiosity led me into technology and cybersecurity where I’ve spent 15+ years working across complex environments.

Over the years, I earned a doctorate in Cybersecurity Analytics and advanced certifications like CISSP, CIPM, CIA, A-CISO, Security+ and more. But the most important lessons didn’t come from a textbook. They came from watching how attacks actually happen.

Cybersecurity is not a “tech problem.” It’s a human problem. Most scams don’t defeat people with genius code, they defeat people with pressure. It could be anything like:

  • A message that looks “official.”
  • A fake invoice.
  • A payment request that feels urgent.
  • A link that looks normal, until it isn’t.

And the impact is real. In 2024, the FBI reported $16.6B in cybercrime losses. The FTC’s annual Consumer Sentinel Network Data Book for 2024 reported $12.5B in fraud losses that same year.

That’s why fear-based messaging doesn’t work. People don’t need panic. They need a plan and preventative measures.

The simplest  security framework I teach is: if you’re a business owner, a professional, or just someone trying to stay safe online.
